Milling machine stand project

I'm just getting cuttng lists together for 3 projects so I can buy the steel cheaper, and at the same time I'm sourcing all the other bits and pieces.

The milling machine stand is for my Warco mill, I'm putting it on a suds tray and the stand will be about 1000mm deep and 800mm wide. Underneath there will be plenty of room for gear and as its deep wanted to put some sliding shelves or shallow drawers. I thought about something like the roller runners/sliders out of a roll cab but looking on fleabay, all the runners seem to be more suited to kitchen cabinets, although I can probably adapt them, here's the beefiest I've found with decent travel

Any ideas on what/where to but some decent roller shelf/drawer runners that can take the weight of a couple of lathe/mill chucks?

Mines a WM15
here's a pic, its currently on a BT surplus wooden drawer unit and its crushing it so the drawers don't open. The bed seems to have no drain hole for suds so may have to explore drilling one.

this looks very like mine and there are loads of others under different names so obviously rebadged kit but it works OK for my needs at present.

Otherwise known as an RF25 miller/driller.
Got the Clarke one unused for last 9 years kept for backup.

Depends how and what you do the stand from, they can be extremely noisy if on woods, it sort of echoes.
I suggest make frame up not much wider than foot print but bolt to a rear wall.

This one seems to hum quite sweetly on its current stand, will have to think of some rubber washers to stop any drumming on suds tray, Drawbar is a weird size, not much choice out there in terms of collets/chucks etc. but I found what I needed in the end. Ive been looking at bigger/better mills but I tend to use it mainly for drilling at present so don't warrant a bridpoert with display etc. just yet.

They look the nuts lots of choice but the first I looked at was over 100 quid a pair I'll look at some of the others to see if this was a one off.

How bout 4 cheap ones per drawer? bit of a job to set up but once done should work ?
I did find some when I looked a while ago in usa that would take 3000kg !!!!!
Thats sum f*****g draw? + think of that price
How bout the local mortuary they have sum pretty long drawers? and they'll stand the cold in ya garage!!!.
I was lucky I found 6 bran new in my local scrappy just lying on the floor !!
coz I do work for him he just said tak em!!

Andy when i used to use that RF25, i made several stands and always resorted back to a flimsy 25x25x3 front leg and top only bolted to wall at rear. Very quiet and substantial.
On 2x1"RHS and another 4x2" wood the noise was intolerable.

Mortuary - now that's an idea! I work in IT and they occasionally scrap some sliding stuff so I'll ask the data centre manager to keep his eye out for me

my back wall is kingspan cored steel cladding, not really up to being bolted to so I'll have to make it a stand. There are some steels I may be able to bolt to to steady it a bit.

I have some runners that were originally in some sort of server racking thing. They are double extending, and go from about 400mm to 630mm. Rack mounted servers are often fairly hefty things, so I should think they would be OK weight wise for you.

There are 11 of these runners stashed in a box under my desk at work, and I had intended to make summat like you describe for the garage, but I doubt I'll ever get 'round to it. You're welcome to them, but unless you happen to be visiting Kent one day, I think the postage may be dear!
