I have seen one for sale and just wondered what was special about it against the standard ML7, seems they are just a easy speed change controllers.
IIRC the Tri-Leva casting is easily broken and difficult to fix, a word of warning if you try to pull it apart
Afaok, it's made of the same stuff as the 'ordinary' belt etc cover but you're right in that the cut-outs/fingers for the control levers make it more susceptible to breakage as @Turbo discovered.
