Moisture in the air line.

I have an sip 3hp belt driven complressor with a 50ltr tank. i'm currently using for shot blasting my car with a clarke siphon fed shot blaster good bit of kit but the moisture in the air supply keeps clogging up the gun. i have a filter on it which would appear to be rubbish so could you recomend a good filter for getting rid of the moisture??
Are the machine mart brands any good??

I use a Norgren filter on mine. Have never seen any water in my line.

Cooling the air before it hits the filter helps. I used to use on in the middle of my air line rather than on the compressor.

Have you made sure there's no water in the compressor?

its best having the water filter in the airline quite close to the gun as the warm moist air condenses in to water as it cools down in the airline. its best to use a half inch bore seperator so theres no loss of cfm and they can hold more water than the smaller ones

Thanks for the advice because i do have it right beside the compressor outlet. and yes i empty the tank every day and when i'm blasting i empty it every hour or so to drain and help dry it out a bit!!! Maybe i'm emptying it too much???

even with the seperator close to the gun water still gets through and spoils things. ive made an air cooler tank to put next to pot or blast gun cool the air further before reaching the water seperator
