Monster lamp.

I have not made myself anything for a few years.
I need an uplighter lamp for the front room of my new house.
Forum member johnser generously sent me a large insulator off a pylon.
Hmm batchelor pad lamp springs to mind.
I fancied a dangerous looking steam punk device, something Nokolai Tesla would have had in his front room.
Not a bad start, the two uprights need replacing with three round ones to keep the flow. And maybe some kind of round light behind the ring at the bottom.
Stands 1.3m tall.
Being a scientific device it will have a full back story.

Bah humbug ... that's only a 33kV one - you need a MAN's insulator set off a 132kV pylon

Agree with ya on the potential changes in design. I recon that polo bulb for the base will be hard to locate but it would look awesome with 2 bulbs on it. You missed the fact that you MUST put a cork on that spike at all times. I'm sure you intend to do that though

For ring of light what about some of the cut to length leds on a strip (as found on many cars now) Would req a small transformer thought

As an extra piece of decoration so it can be switched on or off independent of the bulb or a Tesla coil would be impressive

Could do with skimming those walls and sorting the floor in your house over building lamps I recon LOL

The Gunfork?
A good friend gave me her old pitchfork from ponyclub days.
When I was moving I found the stock of a dead air rifle. They seemed made for each other. Took about ten seconds to 'make'.
Really the lamp is the maquette for my Dubai future skyscraper.
