More EPDM shed roof questions

Okay, I will have a fresh flat roof butting up to an existing EPDM roof, how can I seal the over lap of Epdm rubber?

Next the end here is there any ideas how to do that, ideally to deflect some of the rain away from the door?

havent started on it....for the sake of argument it will just need a join on the epdm , old and new will be level ,i guess i would leave a few mm gap for expansion

or other words ...how do i join epdm on an overlap....

was prob just going to tiger seal it and lay something flat and heavy on it

evostick or suchlike? can it be roughed up with sandpaper first

So long as it's clean probably anything. I'd use Evostick, because that's what I have.

I suppose EPDM isn't like bitumen stuff - you can't heat it up with a hot air gun or blowtorch - and roller an overlap to get a joint/seal??

Apparently there's special rubber primer and magic tape for joining EPDM.

Personally, for a shed roof I'd agree with everyone else and just stick it down with contact adhesive.

Personally, for a shed roof I'd agree with everyone else and just stick it down with contact adhesive.

This ^^^^^^ contact adhesive will fail rubber to rubber, the jointing tapes Vulcanize the rubber much better but you must use the primer with it 1st

Additionally, dont use expired tape it doesn't take.


Which is a **** as I bought a roll to keep on hand / in stock. I just buy what I need now.

They do a special glue and cleaning solvent.
