More fishy business

I have an order for a pair of Angler Fish. I lhave made a few of these to live indoors this guy wants something a bit bigger to live outside.
I started yesterday, the first one is finished today and the second one half way to being done.
Linnophryne Pennibarbata. Measures about 1m long, the body and fins are going to rust the teeth are 3mm galv plate the the feathery bits are made of EPNS cutlery so will keep their goldish look.

A very strange critter, they are very rare and live in the abysall depths of the Atlantic, nobody has any idea of what the feathery bits are for. One theory is she pokes about in the ooze with them looking for food. In real life she is about 150mm long.

our angler fish is usually termed a monkfish by fishmongers and just has one lure it wafts to attract it prey. Never heard of one of those angler fish before, they swim upright? not as the version I speak of that's basically a big ugly flatty. Nice job again

Second Angler fish finished today.
melanocetus Johnsonni aka The Common Black Devil.
Same sort of size as the original. all that is left is to sort out the mounts and to do the rusting.

Both finished and mounted.
They need a bit of damp weather to improve the finish but my customer will no longer have a boring wall.
For the mounts I have a small stainless tab that screws to the wall and slopes down to the sculpture to drain water away and avoid rust streaks. At the bottom of each one are two short bars with rubber feet to keep them stable. I always like to keep the mounts as discrete as possible.
