Ive been hanging round the forum for a few weeks and decided it was time to introduce myself. My names Rich, from sheffield england, ive been welding for around 6 months now, mainly self taught from youtube and internet searches. It started when my dad gave me a small 40 amp stick welder for my new work shop and basically showed me how to strike an arc, after that i was on my own. I did quite well, but soon realised i was limited to what i could do, so i went out and got a cheap second hand 200 amp arc welder. I mainly do light fabrication work and welded garden/scrap sculptures, now realising im limited with a min power output of 40 amps and a cumbersome 1.6mm rod for smaller projects, im looking at getting a gas mig set up. I have my eye on a clarke pro 90 which i may have by the end of the week, so i may be asking alot of questions soon.
Cheers, Rich.
