Been a lurker for a wee while so thought it was about time I 'joined up'.

Ex RAF airframe engineer for 23 years, been working in a distillery for 4 years, now at a CHP plant. Fairly competent with MIG, TIG and MMA but not a pro by any stretch!
As I've left the distillery I now need to get my backside in gear and replace the SIP Cosmo I bought many years ago and replace it with a decent welder lol!

As for a welding machine. What sort of budget do you have in mind, and what process are you looking at?

Nah, we don't make whiskey up here, that's from Ireland or the good ol' US of A.

Oooh I've tried some lovely whiskey from a small Scottish distillery called Edradour. I think a drive up north is due soon

Note the spelling difference..... And yes, Edradour's pretty good, but my favourites are from the Islay distilleries - the smokier and peatier the better.
