Every now and again a real gem turns up .
This is a drivers front seat belt .
Presenter said it passed last year .

It had been cut and glued then gaffer tape .

No he just said what happens now new belt is the only way I will repair it .
If he wants a second hand one no problem but we won't fit it .
No second hand parts of any description fitted by us .
Makes things much simpler .

Think the problem might be that the the tape has frayed and you can see what it is covering up, it probably would have been fine if the tape was in good condition

Here in Pennsylvania have one of the strictest motor vehicle inspection system in the whole country...
When I used to drive old vehicles, I always was on the look out for a "PA state inspection license holder with a seeing eye dog".....

Have never found one (the state cracks down hard, and pulls license's) but I have seen many things get passed that are much like the above.

No i would think the tape would affect the operation of the belt .
I would risk my day in court and have a peek inside .
