I am a little bewildered by your thinking on this. You paid £25 for a compressor, you are going to pay another £165 for a pump. You could buy a new compressor that will do exactly what you want for less money with a warranty. Or are you just a glutton for punishment?

150l belt drive? 3HP? for £190?

The cheapest belt-drive I can find at Machine Mart is £442 for a 2HP

If you go back to his original posts you can see that he just wanted something to use with a rattle gun for taking his landrover nuts off. A small direct drive would do what he needed for this. A friend of mine just bought a V twin 50l belt drive for about 180. That would do fine for his needs.

I am just pointing out that he seems to be slinging a lot of money into saving a few quid!!!

im getting one big enough so in the future i decide to mayb get a grit sand soda blaster im not going to be over working a small compressor,plus i have a sander and rivet gun also a buffer. and i cant find a 150l 3hp for under £200 can you? i can sell it as it is now for more just the tank alone,so replacing the pump is a win for me as ill know its background and really look after it.plus that will have a warranty,the motor is 2 month old with warranty even got the box with reciept.ive used compressors loads before just dont know alot about them which is why i joined here.ill learn either way hard or easy i dont care how but ill learn.

Can't you use the ends off the existing pipe? If you need need bends you could get a pipe bender, get someone to do it or use compression fittings.

If you're going to fit a new pump I'd first of all check it will physically fit, ie mounting holes line up, motor & pump pullies line up OK and then look to see what piping you need.

If you're going for the Clarke than a local branch of Machine Mart may be the best place, especially if you can blag a discount voucher.

Now if it were me....... I would use the money to buy a new unit and turn the old cylinder into a receiver rather than messing round trying to cobble something together.

I did this with mine to to give me 200l

lol theres alot more work required to do what uve done to what i want to do. mines 4 nuts n bolts and a pipe lol...like i said this rand compressor suits my need no need for smaller or bigger or joining its ample,also using rivet gun it has to be mobile which was another reason this rand 150 is bang on.all what money? lol £25

New pipe

Anyone who services HGV plant, lorry garage lads or eve likely, a local garage will have a pipe flaring tool and probably new pipe, sort out the length and what the pipe need s to fit, and they will make you a one up, since Brake pipes dont seem to be sold in pre manufactured lengths anymore , up here Car accessory shops make them to length -you may be lucky with the Diam, or even a diy mechanic friends with a flaring kit might have the size in their kit.

I can't see an aftercooler on the more expensive one, although it mentions one in the description, neither does it mention cast iron cylinders which are preferable.

I'd go for the cheaper one.
