So I've just been and picked this up from someone (for free I'll point out)

he seems to think with a Cap, theres no reason it wont run, as he remembers sometime ago pintching parts from it, but it worked when he did...

so how does one go about wiring this up and what cap do I need for it?

looks like it needs a start and run cap

Well the label you've posted says it needs a 50 micrfarad capacitor, so I guess that's what you need
