MP3 Holder

I recently had a customer looking for something to hold his B&W Zeppelin MP3 player thingy. he fancied one of my life sized people.
We agreed on somebody leaning on the wall listening to it. Then started to get cold feet thinking of the 6kg or so it weighs.
So I decided to make a mockup of the torso and give him five litres of to hold while I kicked him.

Ok so Finite Element Analysis might be easier this method works. No wobbles so I went ahead.

I wanted somebody listening to his sounds discretely.
Next thing is to get him painted and watch him drop an expensive HiFi.

Update on this one
The customer loved it and so does his wife.
Here he is finished and playing his B+W Zeppelin.



I might suggest getting a white lead and taping it up the back of his leg.
An aside here;it drives me mad how few people bother to send me photo's of their sculpture when they have got it settled in.

Very nice as usual Chunko,I'm afraid my mind only moves in an engineering direction and can not summon up any artistic visions at all,mores the pity,Just regarding your cable run, Could you not fix a series of small rings (fishing rod style) up the rear of your sculpture prior to painting etc,
P.S. just stuck me,your guy could be smoking a nice big cigar,or even holding a clarinet.

How is the music machinery attached?

The cable, them little clips could make a very neat and easy retrofit solution...you know the ones, like on appliances, little figure of 8 shapes with the top and bottom cut off, designed to clip cable to cable....

The music thingy? there are two small bolts that into the base of it, in his hand he has a tray same size as the base. I got the customer to send me a tracing of the base to get it right.
Cables? he has fitted a white lead and used clear tape.
My next trick is to send photos off to the manufacturer of the Zeppelin thingy and see if they are interested. ( I will photoshop the lead out of these pics).
