Seeing as we have a great motorbike thread I thought we should have one with mountain bikes or mtbs for short

Last bike ride I went on I lost the bolt out of my rear calliper carrier, after loads of searching online as I couldn’t find one. My LBS opened today so £11 later I was a happy boy.





until I got home and dropped the Allen key between the decking boards. I managed to get the sod out using metal bbq skewers as tweezers

to only realise when I lost the bolt I lost the spacers too. Our local garden centre has a tool shop so some M6 washers to rescue

to then notice the new bolts were too short M6 cap heads at 25mm

luckily screwfix had them

so 4 hours to fit a tiny bracket and £17.70 later...

Im now a happy boy as I have two brakes to use

My bike has been laid up at mum and dads as didnt want to go there to risk any contamination etc.

Was looking as some better brakes and tyres to treat it when it comes back out to play.

Been fixing this one up for my son. Front master cylinder was shot, so fitted a whole new front brake... for just £17, which matches the front mech's "outer cable".
Not a bad machine for a freebie left outside all its life.

I've been out loads - shorter rides from home during full lockdown and then upping the distance since we are allowed to stay out all day. I'm a road cyclist though. I should have started a 600k Audax up in the borders at 07:00 this morning - sadly cancelled! I suspect my ride from north to south of the USA (excluding Alaska) in August / September will go the same way.

Just getting back on a bike after 6 year absence

Forgot how much I enjoyed it, but my wrist is still a bit weak, hoping it will improve with time.

And my **** hurts... when did saddles get so hard?

If you fancy a real giggle , treat your self to a unicycle , you can get a knock about one for about 40 quid ,, off e bay ,, they are such a hoot , and will improve your riding skills no end , I bought one a few years ago , and it improved my motor bike riding lots too , lots of exercise without going too far for a week or two till you learn .

been trying to get hold of a bike for the mrs for the last few weeks, but short of spending 600+ its proving impossible! just want something entry level so we can go out for a pedal rather than a walk!

Yeah, looking around 300 ish if im honest. She wont be doing anything rough or racking up loads of miles. Be mainly the cycle routes up to Milton Keynes and around there. Mostly flat and easy going

I've a mk3 cotic soul 26er that the wife uses, my whyte t130 27.5 as my main do anything bike and my voodoo bizango 29er as my xc bike. Note to self, need more bikes...

Might be worth looking at a Carrera or something similar

I've got a super cheap gt aggresor has a decent set of shocks rides pretty well.

And a cheap road bike which is ok, inclinded to build a better frame and but components as and when, project for the project list
