Much in it between brands of helmet at £50 price point?

Hi all

Just wondered if there is much in it between the various auto helmets at around £50?

Considering Parweld XR915 online, or can get Siegen (sealey group) one at local motorfactors for similar money but don't know the model number.

Anyone got either of the above or one that is similar money and can give any recommendations?

I can't advise on the siegen, but I have been using a parweld XR915H daily for over 2 years now, considering the abuse its had from being dropped, kicked and generally thrown around its stood up well and would recommend it as a budget mask. I use mine mainly with tig, although the parweld specification states a minium of 40 amps, I have used mine at far less without problems.

thanks for the replies, does it trigger at 25 amps? Looking to use ot for bodywork so will be using it at the lower end of the amp range

Put a tick in form me for the Parweld xr915. Bought just over a year ago. 1st auto helmet (they use to be so dear when I looked years ago) So much better for welding on car bodywork, helmet down, SEE where you are going to weld and away you go! Does help to have a good light on to work esp if under car welding. Pros it's an auto helmet! cons the grind function on side (would never use myself) can be nocked on and then you think is this helmet goin dark or what? just flick back to sort. After you have been using for a time if you happen to try a non auto you feel such a fool waiting for it to go clear!! Doh...
