My air filter unit query

I have this air filtration unit that was given to me. I have been using it, but I have been struck by some doubt. I have been using it with air flowing left to right, but some diagrams seem to flow the other way, with the regulator first and shut off valve at the end of the unit. I asked Norgren, but didn't get that question answered. Would using it backwards lead to losses of pressure, such that two 3HP compressors could not run a helmet and an LVLP gun?

My regulator won't let air flow the wrong way. Are there any arrows on it? These would indicate the direction of flow.

The RH unit looks like an oiler, if so this would be the last in line, but for spraying and breathing it must be removed.

It is a breathing air set, donated when the local body shop upgraded theirs.

Norgren regulators usually have a small arrow cast into them to show direction of flow.
