My first rose

well , boredom struck so I had a crack at making a rose, no stem as yet as I need to get some round bar. It's out of 1.6 mild steel and blacked the good old fashioned way, gas axe and a bucket of manky old oil out of the landy

Nice job sir, I have been a fan and frequent user of the heat and old oil dip for years, Think i was first shown this about 58 years ago when i was 12 years old, In metalwork class i had made a ctr square/finder and that is how the teacher showed me how to give it a nice finish and rust proof at the same time. used the brazing hearth and torch and just kept dipping till it got the nice semi matt surface coating.

i like that, how would i go about doing something similar? is it plasma cut pettles of different sizes and just tacked on the underside?

I did this one by just cutting out these shapes out of thin sheetwith tin snips then using needle nose and vice grips to shape

Oh and the stem is 8mm copper pipe wit an end cap drilled and tapped for a bolt to attach the petals
