I bought my first air compressor SIP 06260 Airmate TN3/100-SRB Oil Lubricated Air Compressor so forgive my ignorance. It was delivered today and the tank is bolted at one side the is a missing bolt at the other side. Is it a place for air outlet valve. There was a part with the instruction and Im sending the pic. Thanks for any help.

its a quick release coupling that either screws in to the end or side of tank depending on which side of outlet u require and the other is just a bung plug to fill whichever u dont use
The SIP manual http://www.sipuk.co.uk/media/uploads/06260-Airmate-TN3-100-SRB.pdf is generic covering the belt driven compressors, almost all the model searches produce different pics of the same or a previous version. If the valve you have in the pic came already with PTFE sealing tape, then if this is the only hole vacant it would seem obvious that this is where it fits, the puzzle would be why is there no adjustable pressure rgulator for this air outlet to screw into?? --

there is one there to the left of the red pressure regulator knob in top picture
just double checking as the pic is not totally clear, is the pic showing a female threaded hole in the end of the big black air receiver, or has that hole got a blanking plug already screwed into it??

Screwing the air connector adapter straight into the hole is going to give you 150PSI out unregulated. For many applications you are going to need a regulator unless there is another regulator outlet built into the machine above the tank level. I cant believe the manufacturer of this style of machine wouldnt include a one in. For transport I can well imagine this adapter being left loose for the the buyer to attach as it is prone to damage sticking out of the end of the receiver.

Thanks for I will screw the adapter and Ill post some other pics there seems to be another a little bit smaller adapter above you can see it on one of the pics above posted by you Ive got exactly the same one as the second picture the adaptor is just below the handle and I think there is the regulator above the gauges

faith in Humanity restored, a water separator is realy a must and well worth considering. Do remember to "Drain" the receiver regularly depending on how often you power the machine up. there will be a drain valve under the receiver, when opened water will probably shoot out.Compressed air is Dangerous, find some details about compresed air, read them and remember them.

Just need a good electric circuit and control gear to connect it too. Almost sure to blow a 13 amp fuse in a normal plug, there may be recomendations regarding the Electrical supply circuit and its rating in the user manual. And do check the oil level.

1/4" BSP in reality has 19 Threads per inch, or in metric would be 1.337 pitch, size over the male thread the O/D would be 13.157mm or .518".
The ID of the female hole will be 11.445mm or .4506"
I`m sure my hoses are 5/16" or more probably 3/8", some are clamped with jubilee clips odd ones have "O" clips and the odd one has none at all,the hose just pushed on.
Many air tools might well need a slightly different connector to attach the hose to the air tool.They work by screwing the femal nut on to the tools male threaded end, if the tool has a 1/4" male thread, then a 1/4" female threaded connector like in the pic..The nut slipped over the fitting and the rubber hose pushed onto the tail and secured with a jubilee clip, to remove simply unscrew the nut a few turns, Next up bigger will be 3/8"BSP, then 1/2"BSP.
The only other foreseeable problem is the type of push in connector fitting you have, "PCL" dominated the market years ago, but a search will bring up at least 3 different makes , different connectors all doing the same job but alas not interchangable, manufactured by different comanies
UPDATE, the SIP site is as good as their manuals, looking at the images of the fittings I would 99.9% say they are the nice common PCL fitting, the two others could be Euro, and UNI, the Euro being developed to standardise the dominance of PCL on the market but we seemed to have eneded up with a range of EURO style fittings that dont like to be interchanged, If in doubt take the fitting you screwed into the tank and check the male tail of a PCL pushes in and releases OK.Any half descent supplier or good old Ebay will get you stock at very competitive prices. If you get stuck Post an update. So 1/4" male BSP, male PCL connector to fit 3/8" Hose. or PCL to fit 3/8" Hose
