Following on from my "how do you drill glass" thread

This is what I made.

Empty rum bottle which is a memento of my trip to India last year.

500 mm strip of colour changing LEDs with controller and power supply ordered from ebay, £3 quid delivered

Drill hole in glass bottle for cable. Cut connector, insert into bottle and pass through drilled hole. Solder and heat shrink connections. Use sticky foam pad to affix remote sensor "thingy" to back of bottle.

These ebay LED light strips are quite ace

Plug into mains et voila

Very nice. I've wanted to try that for a while but I didn't think it would work well without a frosted glass bottle, clearly it does.

That's for a litre, puts it almost on a par with some single malts.

I did a similar thing with a tall vase-type thingy from Dunelm Mill, bought a string of micro LEDs on copper wire (similar to these https://www.lightingever.co.uk/20m-...MIjIPA1uTj1gIVbpPtCh0RQAy-EAQYASABEgJCR_D_BwE ). Pleased with the result, most bum-twitching bit was drilling the vase! Used some large-bore copper tube I had lying about (gawd knows where I got it from) and copper sheet for the cap, soldered them and then trimmed and polished.
