Navigation apps for trailering?

Any recommendations for an app that's suitable for trailering? My LWB car and tilt deck car transporter add up to a lot of metres and I've had some real issues when Google Maps and Waze direct me down narrow lanes :/ At least my reversing skills have got better as a result.

maybe get a HGV wagon one, I know they exist, but I've never heard of one specific for car trailers ..

As above, hgv one. But they’re really expensive. I have never bought one, I just use google map as a hgv driver. Then I look at roads and just avoid B roads.

My mate is a trucker, his HGV tomtom was £300 ish second hand but he reckons worth every penny

I have a snooper truckmate that has those options in my van as I got annoyed with the popular car sat nav’s trying to route me either though 1.5 ton weight limits or along the narrowest roads when a dual carriage way was within sight. They do several versions, dare I say it even a caravan-motorhome version.

Personally I'd buy a bog standard satnav and back it up with one of these:


Big scale along with masses of weight limits, low bridges, speed cameras, etc. Worth every penny, I buy a new one every year as mine wear out through almost daily use. A lot of my lorry driving life has been spent wandering around the country at over 5 metres high and anything up to 30 metres long and these maps have yet to let me down, but I can't say the same for satnavs...

If you feel the need to go down the wagon satnav road (see what I did there ) have a look at www.trucknavs.co.uk They're much cheaper than the hgv-specific offerings and have all the same features, and if you have any problems the guy who makes them answers the phone and sorts it out for you.
