ive got to say im not a fan of the direct drive compressor they make a lot more noise then belt drive and i dont think that they will last as long the one you are looking at will probably do what you want but you may suffer if you get an akward bolt that requires the impact gun to run longer with it only having a 50 ltr receiver

if anything goes wrong there not worth repairing. as said small air tank .a belt drive would be better . but its down to budget and use. get the best u can aford

well im a mechanic by trade, and i've been caught short on a few crank pulley bolts whilst doing timing belts etc, so it's not like its got to wind a lot of thread out and be running a long time. literally need it for a short sharp (but powerfull) shock. mainly concerned that it might not have the beef behind it, despite what lines and gun im using.

i'd love to go for a belt drive compressor straight away, but cost is a big factor for me at the mo. whats the best bang per buck belt drive compressor out there? is it worth me saving my pennies and dodging the direct drive effort altogether?

Why not look for a used belt drive compressor, rather than a new one which is likely to be more use for blowing up tyres?

I have an old Compair belt drive 3hp, which cost £175 used about 10 yrs ago, and which is still going strong.
