hi guys.
just started restoring a bmw oldtimer last weekend. currently im stripping the underseal around the places i need to repair in order to do my welding.
i bought a bituminous based underseal to do my touch up work with when im finished. while im stripping the old underseal, i see there is a white coating under the black underseal.
can anybody tell me what this coating might be, its purpose and wether i need to use this when i redoing the underseal. (i thought the bituminous underseal was applied directly to the metal)
i know nothing about restoration and so am learning everything as i go along so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks guys.
