Hello! My name is Mike if am from Manchester, I don't currently own a welder at the moment but I have signed up to do plenty of research and reading in the hope of getting one and learning to weld so I can work on my own car.

are you just looking to do car work or do you think you'd be into fabricating things like tables and benches?

Clarke 150 machines are good starting places, many people here like them for bodywork

It will mainly be for car work, currently have a 1972 beetle in need of some welding work but I will be getting somebody else to help out with that as I want it on the road for summer! Then I can start to learn for the next project.

Where abouts in Manchester are you from? Theres plenty of info and assistance on here, I should know cos ive needed it more than enough times. Im also taking on an old beetle quite soon

Hi Dean, well I'm on Bolton really but on the Manchester side haha beetles are great cars just wish I had the welding skills to do the work myself.
