New Blasting Setup

Now i have the room at home, looking at getting a blasting setup in the shed.

Couple years ago i use an ICB Container with a window and some gloves and made a very crude cabinet... Using a cheapo ebay suction gun and some allu oxide it took me about an hour to completely strip a 15" wheel...

Looking to purchase an improved setup (Pressure pot?) and reduce the time it takes to clean something, for the sakes of an argument - would it be possible to blast a wheel in around 15-20 minutes?

I have an old SIP Compressor, single phase, which pushes 11/13 CFM from memory.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

a couple of 14cfm comps coupled together and a modified cheap poy will get u away nicely

Yep, no substitute for cfm.

I see, what about the blasting side of things aside from Maximum CFM.

Do these blasting pots work as people say they do?

there not bad if u cut the tap and nozzle of the end and fit a carbide nozzle .the ball valves on the grit supply leave a bit to be desired but if your serious u would have to spend more money

Can anyone recommend a pot for £200-£300? Seems pointless buying a £100 pot then spending £100 on it to make it work effectively?

anything past the cheap pots is going to cost about a grand clemco mini pots are that price. I made my own similar to there spec and managed to buy all the fittings and blast hose and jet for 80 quid and made the sand valve they fell of the back of a lorry along with 16 bags of grit
