Hello all,

I am Zim. I joined this forum to try and get some advice and help from the more knowledgeable out there. I am 39 and unfortunately dont have any real qualifications. I have been out of work for a while and decided that maybe its time to sort my life out, got to grow up at some point. I have decided that I would like to learn welding and try become a professional welder. All the courses I seem to come across are for school leavers or cost a fortune. Would anyone out there have any advice to how I could get into the industry and learn.

Welcome to the forum Zim

The easiest thing is type 'welding career' into the search box, your question has been asked a few times and you will find answers relating to different elements of fabricating/welding careers, both employed and self employed.

If it helps you decide which route/skill level etc you think is for you, then by all means come back for more detailed help from the experienced members here.

I have apprenticeship knowledge but I don't have the knowledge to advise beyond that, others on here certainly do.
