Hello , My name is Jeff. I just found this site. I'm in the process of putting in floorpans/trunk pans in my dads 61 impala. I'm useing a lincoln idealarc 150. Please point me in the right direction to ask questions about how to set this machine up. ? on wire speed/volts setting. This machine has a Spot weld/seam weld/stitch weld switch. I have used this machine for about 7 years but I just can't seem to find the right settings.

Just ignore the spot and stitch timers (set to 0.)

Use the Miller MIG calulator, that will tell you the volt setting to use. Then adjust the
wire speed for a good sizzle.

Th tutorial on this site also has a good description of how to get the settings right. The wire speed video is good to learn what the right sound is.

Welcome aboard, this is THE place for help and info'.

Another tip, when you get the welder working you might get a werid intermittent fault, it wil weld for a few seconds and just stop. This drove me mad once with my welder. I was on the brink of taking it apart or calling out for advice. Then I spotted that I had nudged the spot weld timer switch when moving it around. How popular a problem is this?
