New hobby welder

Hi,
I just found out this forum exists, there seems to be a lot of useful info. My first project will either be a bit of broken lawnmower or whatever welding jobs are needed for my car.
I own a used Esab Miggy which is in need of some gas. Last year I fixed some holes in my car (Classic Saab 900 ).

Hi Guido, welcome to the forum. The ESAB welders have a good reputation but aren't the cheapest. How did you come to get hold of one of those?

What year is the Saab? I suppose the newest 900s are 15 years old now. Perhaps I'm getting old but it doesn't seem nearly that long.

Hi Malcolm.
Thanks. Internet was my friend when looking for a welding machine; it was an auction site and after two bids I won. The Esab was high on my list because it is Swedish, and so is the car. The Saab is from 1990 but with only 145.000 km's now it will be my daily driver for many years to come. Welding on the car was a great way to learn and practise; although with a rented machine. But now I have my own
