Nice????
A welder with wheels on, sitting on top of a very dodgy welding cart, most people who spend that much aren't in to "welder body panel repairs" .
How does the gas bottle balance on the bottle rack???????............
The welder is without a doubt at the top of the pile, but it may turn into an expensive pile if it falls of of that welding cart.......Yeah nice - brand new 250amp 240v welder.
I don't weld body panels. The cylinder stays chained to the building, and I have extended the gas hose. I am used to welders at that height, The (dodgy welding cart) is 304 stainless, The welding looks poor as I was delivered the wrong gas It took a few days until they could send me the correct gas, As the depot is 100 miles away. So I had no choice to use a slightly incorrect gas mixture, We have a new 98-2 cylinder now, As can be seen in the picture, I only weld stainless steel. It Is setup for a very specific job and is perfect for it. I also has a flex neck on the Binzel torch, Which It needs to help me with my jobNice????

I like good equipment, It was cheaper than the welder it replaced and welds way way better, I don't think It was expensive, I have tried more expensive single phase welders, They weld poorIy compared to the Lorch. I also have a Kemppi kempact 3000-Miler Dynasty 280 ac-dc tig set. I am in Whitehaven.Very nice indeed. Few and far between, the people who will spend that much on a single phase MIG, but probably the nicest of it's kind on the market
Whereabouts in Cumbria are you?
I really really rate Express Cutting & Welding, they're a top bunch. Finbarr and Andy are both great at backup/support as well as sales.
I have tried for a while to find a mig welder I am happy with to do it's specific job, It has got expensive! The Lorch is amazing. I rarely need to weld mild steel, but I am sure It will be just as amazing.nice machine I have the same one, never welded stainless with mig. YET! but I may give it a try.
Just having a bit of banter, you'll get used to us lot fairly soon or get fed with us, one of the two.I don't weld body panels. I have a bad back. It Is easier for me to have the welder at that height, Especially when I need to change the wire. After I had spinal surgery, the surgeon told me the next day, don't lift more than 15kgs for the rest of your life. I was 41 then, Now 55, and I haven't When you wake up on a Monday morning, and your right foot doesn't move, I feel extremely lucky the surgeons at Newcastle General could fix me. I have other discs that are in bad shape, hence the lifting ban. It sometimes can cause the odd issue, If I am off-site and get asked for a lift, and I say I can't as I have a bad back, the odd time I get some abuse, As I am a big fella and It looks like I could lift anything on my own. I have had to put a couple of electric winches in the workshop, as one is used for lifting the 4 jaw chuck on the lathe, for me it is a no no.Just having a bit of banter, you'll get used to us lot fairly soon or get fed with us, one of the two.
A lot of new members buy a mig then build a cart soon after.
Any pictures of your normal work?
I couldn't agree more with you regarding good equipment, money well spent in the long run, is my view as well.
It Is a tough old life we have to endure.I understand your pain/journey, I had the same back/leg pain for over 30 years, finally had spinal surgery about 8 years, pretty much the same as yours. I'm fortunately to have recovered very well, but at 68 I'm getting on a bit, still working by choice and still playing in the workshop....
Despite a heart attack at 51, spinal surgery at 60-ish and Bowel cancer 3.5 years ago....

do you not use pure argon for your stainless welding?I don't weld body panels. The cylinder stays chained to the building, and I have extended the gas hose.
