Good evening!
Firstly i just want to say great forum!.I have only been browsing a week or so but have already found much interesting and useful advice, some of which i have put into practice in my work already.
A couple of years ago i decided on a change of career and went from CNC plasma, laser and waterjet cutter/break press operator to trainee fabricator welder and have never looked back.
I absolutely love my job as the work is so varied. One day i can be welding heavy duty gas pipe support stands, the next day ill be Tig welding thin gauge stainless, the day after that ill be making a bespoke shopping trolley for a customers elderly mum!.
In my 2 years training i have learnt to TIG & MIG weld to a pretty good standard and im currently learning to arc weld which,to be honest i am finding harder to master than both TIG and MIG (im getting there though!).
Asides from welding i have a keen interest in cars and would like to get myself a little project once im earning a bit more(trainee wages aint great!).Prefferably a mk1 escort or mk1 vw scirocco.
My other passion is football and im a chelsea fan(cue abuse!).
Hopefully i will be able to contribute some of my 2 years welding experience to topics in the forum but its more than likely that for now ill be asking the questions instead of answering them!
Cheers.
Carl
