new member!

hi all,im brand new!!

been looking around around the forum for a couple of weeks now,thought id join!
im looking to buy a mig welder and try and teach myself!
ive bought a book so far on the subject of mig welding!
im really wanting to do work on old cars,so thin gauge metal,not really sure what welder to buy yet??
im sort of going the clarke route from what ive read on the forum,just not sure on the right model or wheres the best place to buy.
ive even been looking at second hand ones on ebay,dont know wheather to buy gas or gasless yet? or a machine that can do both?

good forum,very intresting and great for a complete novice like myself!

Hi Ben, welcome to the forum, the Clarke 135 would suit thin metal, have a look at shop at top of page.
Gasless is normally too hot for bodywork.

ive actually bought a second hand mig welder today,its a clarke 151en gas/gasless one,going to have a mess about with it in the next few days when i get hold of some scrap metal.
99% certain im just gunna make a load of bubble gum weld!
