Hi all just like to introduce myself, just bought a clarke 160TM mig, and have lots of questions for you all.
not done any welding before only lead work and was well over 20yrs ago in collage.I will be using it on my landrover chassie any tips on the wire size,gas mix would be a great help.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Nice little machines those, it will do you well.
0.8mm wire and argon/co2 mix gas would be the ideal setup though plain co2 will work if and is cheaper if you don't mind a bit more spatter.

welcome along. I've got the same machine, seems like a good bit of kit (although I've only used it tiny bit).

So far seems really easy to use but getting everything right to produce a good weld is a little more fiddly. Must practise more!
