Evening all, I'm currently doing a C&G course in welding and fabrication. My first attempt at welding was back in 2009 when I welded a VW Bug I'd bought. Wasn't the tidiest of welding but the MOT man was happy with the strength so I got a pass.
Fast forward a few years and decided that I didn't want to carry on with the job I'm doing (I.T related) and wanted to change my career, I'd enjoyed welding up that old Bug and always admired people that could weld to a high standard and make something from metal. I applied for a place on a course and after passing the initial tests I was offered a place, I'm currently working through the theoretical side of things at the moment. In the meantime I've very recently purchased an old Sealey 100 (gas type) & a friend who is a skilled welder has offered to give me some practical guidance over a few cuppa's. :-)
I look forward to reading through the posts on here & will hopefully be able to contribute as I learn a bit more.....I think for now though I'll just lurk and admire everyone's work. :-)
