I'm joining up here having been directed here many times from car forum projects and as I am planning to do some restoration of my own in the near future. I haven't picked up a torch for some time now having previously done some gas and arc welding. I'm looking to buy some equipment of my own which will save me paying out to do jobs that I should be capable of carrying out myself, though MIG welding will be a new experience for me. I am more looking forward to the satisfaction of doing it myself. I will be using the equipment at home in my garage / driveway where I only have single phase electrics.
I will be after some advice on choosing equipment to get me up and running and ready to tackle a winter project later this year.
