Just though I would share, got my self a really cheap mask for a tenner and put a fixed shade 10 gold lense in it, was much clearer than the auto masks I have always used for tigging but the viewing area was pretty small, so I started looking for a maks with a bigger viewing area and planned to put a bigger gold lense in.
Found a Miller mask, same shape as the Elite but with a "passive" shade 10 lense on us ebay, was still really cheap even with shipping and taxes (less than 60ish quid to my door)
Gave it a bash with the lense that was in there and I was shocked at how good it was. It already had some sort of goldish tinted lense already but I didnt realise when buying it.
I love it, light as a feather, clear as day and with a massive viewing area, sometime I cant even see the arc, just seems to cancel it out, but I could see the sharpened tip of the tungsten
and exactly where it was pointing. Maybe I have always just had crap masks, but this is hands down, the best mask I have ever owned.
If I am tacking anything, I still use an auto mask, but for welding I use the Miller. Awesome.
And due to the bigger clearer viewing area, my beads are now much improved. The end.
Niall.
