New pressure switch on clarke se16c150

Hi all not long joined the forum, just purchased a used Clarke SE16C150 2005 model.
I was told it worked fine but would not cut out and needed a new pressure switch.
When I opened the box that contains the capacitor I found the wires were all burnt out and melted, and they were not connected to the overload switch which had disintegrated. I knew I should have seen it running but it had just been pulled out of the guys shed and he had no power, but promised me faithfully it was fine, so as it was cheap I took it. I ordered a new switch and capacitor and connectors from Clarkes. The switch and capacitor I received are different from what is fitted, the switch is round and from the Boxer model where mine is square and the capacitor is shorter with a nut on one end and only two spade connectors on the other. The original has no nut is a bit longer and has four spade connectors three only being used, so looks like they have sent the wrong items.

I also ordered a new pressure switch, the same model that is there now a Condor MDR1-EA/11. The new one arrived today and it is slightly different its a Condor MDR 1, which has a push fit for the small pipe that runs to the non return valve. I have a copper pipe that is not a push fit there now, do I need to also buy a NRV with a push fit and new plastic pipe, or is there another way to get round it?.

Sorry its such a long question but I have no idea about compressors and any help would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Can you not unscrew the fittings from the old one and fit on the new one?

Yeah, I know what you mean. May be worth a try as a first go to see if they will come gently though, mine was a square metal combined cut out switch and unloader valve but the fittings screwed out ok.

It turned out I didn't actually need a new switch as when I took the cover off a mangled brown plastic wall plug fell out and it worked ok after!

Oh by the way if you can upload some pictures that should help a lot as sometimes descriptions don't convey what you mean all that well. (Not a critiscism its just sometimes easier to see with a piccy)

As long as the capacitors and cut-out switch have the same values printed on them you'll be OK.

For the unloading pipe, get a length of nylon pipe to suit the pressure switch and a corresponding push-fit union to screw into the side of the non-return valve where the current copper pipe fits.

I'm guessing the nylon pipe will be either 6mm or 1/4" and the union 1/8" BSP.

Thanks for all the replies, feel a bit stupid as when I came to fit the pressure switch the old one was also push fit, so just put the copper pipe back in the new one.
As for the capacitor and cut out switch I phoned Clarkes and they told me I could use what they sent me, I just need to get a piggyback spade connector to connect two wires on one terminal. I am hoping to sort out the electrics for it the weekend and see if she works!. Thanks again for all your help, very much appreciated.

Don't know if this is the right forum, but I have an old 1960 Ingersol Rand t30 with a 5HP 3 phase motor and a 200L plus tank all in good working condition.
If anybody wants it you can collect it for free, it is very heavy I had to strip it down to move it so the motor and pump have been dismantled without any damage, thank you.
