Hi I'm rob spotted this site last night after having trouble with my welder ,snap on pro mig 186 .first off I was welding outer sill on s reg fiesta ,mig was welding fine untill nearly finishedseaming last plate on ,then as Im pressing trigger its as though wire speed is turned up full speed ,doesn't matter if I'm turning the knob up or down it won't alter ,at my old place of work we'd just try and patch them up until they had to be sent off for full service ,as this is my own mig I don't really want to send it off unless have to because of the price ,was wondering if anyone else has had this type of prob and what it could be .appreciate any help,advice thanks

Sounds like the potentiometer is at fault im sure a spark will come along and correct me!
Thanks guys I thought I'd strip the welder down this weekend to see if I spot anything burnt or broke ,turns out the three solder welds on the potentiometer had snapped luckily quite an easy fix this time because I'm not too well up on the electrical side of things,thanks for the advice
