New to the forum!

Hello,

I have read on this forum for what must be ages. Currently started a new project car and cant really stick weld it together... Never used a MIG so I went to buy the 160TM and got all worried about the amps etc
In the end I went for a clarke 151TE and have ordered the larger gas bottle conversion as I may need this later. From the specs they seam to almost be the same machines... MM are totally clueless about whats in the box and what would be suited to home 13amp plug, however its all sorted now

Nearly ordered the stand then recalled I can weld at least stick so I will just make one

I am looking forward to wasting the Co2 bottle on trial runs.

Hiya and welcome, Richard,
Great news that you`ve joined we 'Clarke-ites'....they are smashing little MIG machines and as you say, the different models do seem very-similar except in the outside case shapes.

I`ve had fun getting to grips with my 160 model.....I recommend you get some steel-sheet of various gauges and a few spare contact-tips and just weld away happily until you get a feel for torch-positioning and power/feed settings.

The forum MIG-tutorials are truly excellent (I re-review them regularly) and don`t forget to post up some pictures of your welds and your projects....we all like pictures!
