Hello All,
I joined the forum to obtain help advice on some welding topics. I have welded many years ago, on specialised applications - predominantly toolsteels (even on exotic Titanium and Zirconium alloys!!!). No, I am not a qualified welder just lucky to have been given some very good training by an ex-ship builder. Alas this was 30 years ago.... only recently got back into the swing with a friends MIG welder - and loved it!
My main reason for buying a welder is to have complete freedom when working on projects. My current project is to build a kit car - requires a modest amount of welding, including the modification of an aluminium sump, hence my renewed interest in welding. Yes, I could pay to have this done - but that's no fun!
No doubt once the welding kit has been purchased many more things will look interesting!
