Good evening everyone.
I'm New on here and just after after some good old advice really.not sure if this is the best place to post this thread, so I'm sorry if it isn't.
So here we go. I'm currently working in the roofing trade,I have done this for the last 4 years, fitting single ply membrane, (sarnafil) where all the joints have to be welded (it's a plastic weld where hot air fuses the material together) before this I served in the British army, but sadly picked an injury during training so was medically discharged.
Any way, I'm looking for a career change, and welding has always interested me, I'm not shy to hard work or starting at the bottom. I'm currently self employed but I'm fed up of the job insecurity and bull#hit that comes with self employment, chasing money etc..
So all I'm after guys an gals is General information from yourselves, what would be the best way for me to do this an is it worth it. What welding should I start off with? Which is best for a newbee. I'm 26 years old now, with a fiance and little girl. Do I go to college, or a intense welding school? It is something I really want to Do, and have my heart set on it. So any tips/ info would be much appreciated.
Thank you again.
