Thought I'd join in on the forums here as there is a mass of information on the forums and the main main part of this site.
I've always wanted to get into welding (for cars) as I have a habit of buying the odd rust bucket to restore. My most recent purchase turned out to have more rust than expected so I figured now's a good time to learn.
Here's the car that made my decision to learn welding:
And an example of a fraction of it's rust:
I've bought a Wolf MIG 140 (plus a few accessories) which is capable of 30-135 amps, most of the car's welding will be on 1-1.5mm steel.
The car's under cover for now and I will be practising on our old back boiler.
