New torch

Hi all I'm going to fit a new torch to my snap on 130 turbo I haven't looked yet as it's dark,
I'm wanting to fit a new torch to it
The replacment torch I have has the large wire and 2 smaller wires is this a straight swap as the large will be self explanatory but I don't remember seeing 2 small wires last time I took the original apart, cheers all

Has it got a gas valve and switch or just a micro switch? the old 130 needs a torch with a valve in it unless your up for some mods! The small wires are the switch to feed the contactor.

This torch is suitable for MIG/MAG welding with a gas hose of 2 m. with a gas valve in the handle. Suitable for MIG 50-260A, and most 50-260A MIG / MAG welding torches. Gas valve can be connected to the smaller devices which have no electric solenoid valve. This tool has an exclusive design, is well made, has a robust construction which can be used on devices without the Euro-central terminal and an output between 50 and 260 amps. Finally, the welding torch has a built-in handle mechanism.
So im guessing iv bought the wrong torch?

Quick way would be to blow in the pipe at the machine end of the torch and then press the trigger you should notice that you can blow through with the trigger (and gas valve?) pressed but not so when released.

ps did you mark where the ORIGINAL wire(s) went ? Even if your original only had one wire it should be easy enough the make a "two switch wire" torch work. It would be more difficult the other way round! Namely if ori had two and you ordered a one wire type!!

Hi iv blown through the tube it will only allow if i press trigger,
And no i havent even removed the old torch yet,
The reason i post the question is i only have a small amount of time to work and i always have problems with this stuff thanks tho,

Sounds like the correct style torch, as long as it's not too big it will do the job.

Awesome cheers so if my welder has a 1 wire switch will i just have to join the 2 wires into one?

If you do that you won't have a switch! Looking at the drawing for my Snapon 130 the switch goes between torch live and the single wire to switch the contractor and wire feed motor, check that your machine is the same, there is a wiring diagram in the Snapon section on here.

Hey dude cheers sorry I didn't update I sorted it works great and all for £25 I'm chuffed I can. Carry on with repairing my vw bay cheers for your help
