New toy, anyone know anything about it?

Well, the day has finally arrived, my old dead Migatronic has been replaced

I now have a rather hefty Cebora 260E an ebay find (much thanks to my grandad on this, he`s on here hiding somewhere)

Havent had a chance to take any pics myself yet, it`s still in the back of the car until I figure out how to get it out again, so heres a link to the original listing

I`ll replace the torch at some point, functional, but tatty, so I think i`ll treat it, and it could do with a new earth clamp while i`m at it.

So then, does anyone know anything about it, even my supplier was a bit stumped by it. All I can tell you at the moment is the duty cycle is far better than anything i`ve seen elsewhere of this size, 100% @ 200amps, 60% @ 260 amps, oh, and it weighs a bit, the shipping weight from UPS was listed as 200kgs!!

Hopefully I wont kill this one too quickly

Mark, 40amps flat out, electrics should be fine, specced for 100amps to feed the workshop, i`m not quite sure when I ever thought i`d be running two welders flat out along with god knows what else to need all that power, but who knows, if i ever came across a syncowave or similar it could come in handy.

I`ve only had a chance to test it on my emergency bottle of devils gas so far, but all seems well. Handily it came with both the drive rolls of 0.6/0.8 and 1.0/1.2. Suprisingly on a machine this size, only a single drive roller, but seems to work fine.

So does anyone out there know how old it is or have a wiring diagram/manual for it just in case? I can`t seem to find anything about it anywhere

Thanks Chipper, i`ll get on to them for a manual and wiring diagram. Popped over to see Bob Young yesterday and pick up some gas, had a rummage through all the old cebora catalogues, turns out if was one of the first large single phase machines they did, dates back between 20 and 25 years. The age doesnt worry me in the slightest, it`s a beautiful machine to use, and i`ve just discovered the joys of spray transfer :drool:

Sounds excellent, nice one. I just picked up my 180 today, looking forward to melting things but no idea what the controls do Hopefully whatever W.Star send will have some clues.
