New trolley for new welder

Traditional first project for a new welder.
So far loving my new GYS mig.
Easy to set up and gives a nice smooth weld.
Trolley frame 30x3mm box with s deck of 2mm sheet. Handle secures the cylinder and castor wheels underneath it.

Most of the big machines do.
I might swap the wheels out for bigger ones later.

Single phase but multi volt so it should work off a transformer.
Comes with weird French tech so it works off a two pin plug.

Very nice. I like GYS stuff. Looks like a really nice rugged bit of kit and nice that it takes tge 15kg rolls. Be interested to hear more the more you use it. Looks a similar price to my Kemppi but larger with more output. Very tempting.

Used a 400A GYS TIG machine a while ago, really nice machine too, great quality.

I know its a ball ache with the machine being tied up atm but next time you change the wire could you please give us a couple of pics of the feed motor...My local BOC depot keeps offering me very good prices on the GYS range and i could be in line for a new machine this year

This will hold a constant 80amps no problem and will go to 100amps.

Previous to this I had a Bosch BAT690 (90amp).

I honestly think the GYS is a better tool at two thirds of the price of the Bosch bit of kit.

Wire feed mechanism is beautifully engineered. Set the pressure on the rollers and just flip the lever over to access the feed

That's about the only thing I wish my Bohler had. 2 rollers struggle to push 0.8 wire up a 5m torch.

Nice trolley BTW, I cheated and bought one.

Blacksmith here has one. It’s tons better than the sealey equivalent that a pal has. I’d buy the GYS one if I could justify it.

One thing I don't own is a portable induction heater - I do fancy one.

I have never used one - only a static one for heating flywheel ring gears up. To shrink fit them.
