Hi from staffs/W.mids.

Just setting out and have no welding experience apart from a couple of goes on a friends mig which was already set up.
Hoping to learn as I go as I cant get on a college course but I like to try and get things right and soak up as much info as possible.
Been lurking as a non member for a while but now made the decision to give it a go and start doing something for real, just trying to decide which welder to go for.

Soak up the college course mate. Theres an old saying "A man who teaches himself has a fool for a student". Buy a couple of six packs (for after the welding lessons lol) and spend the day at your mates place and have him help you, courses are good but hands on 'real world' welding is a better teacher every time.
