Newbie - complete new set up advice

Ok then here goes. I do up campers and I need to push my profits. My last sprayer cost £900. Now this may be cheap in some eyes however I'd prefer (or need) the money in my pockets. And more importantly the job was terrible, I've sprayed panels with cans 10 times better. So I just have to try, worth the risk surely?
So please be patient with me, everyone has to start somewhere....

So I have a unit, a good friend who could build a booth in it.

Now I want some advice on complete set ups which would make it easier for me to learn and would provide a pretty good finish within time.

What would be the best budget set up (complete rig) and cost?
Including even paint would be nice....

I need to pacify myself on this matter. Is this actually possible.......

you would need a good 14cfm compressor with water filter and pressure regulator and a decent gun, the best paint is 2k but it contains isocyanates so you would also need a good air fed mask which then means you need another 8 cfm for the mask so you would need 2 compressors or a good power supply for a bigger machine.
also dont expect great things from a diy booth especially the fan if you intend to fit one a spray booth moves masses of air something like 600 cfm i think.

£900 was good for a professional job done right but if the job was rubbish you were ripped off

because the pressure only goes up to 120 to 150 psi on most compressors and would peter out in a few minutes

Someone else on here is going to try scuba tanks refilled from a centre somewhere, but it seems daft to me. Half an hour per tank only. Plus clambering about with gear on your back. No allowance, come the half hour, you have to leg it even mid-way through something. Generally there's reasons why things aren't in popular use.

As for learning to paint, 'course it's possible and definitely worth doing longer term, but I'd say it's a bit brave/optimistic to go right away working on other people's things, not to mention taking money for it.
£900 seems v.cheap for a van, esp if that's labour and materials and it's normal not mates rates. Was it poor because the paint was peely etc or because of bodywork needing more prep, that money wouldn't leave a lot of room for that.
