Hi all, this forum is great. I have been reading the thread for a while now and have bought a compressor, blast cabinet and a Clarke 150 TE MIG welder, all second hand.
The welder came with wire and disposable gas cannister, so one day when i had some time I tried it out. One zap and that was it! contact breaker flipped. I took the side off and noticed the wire was snagged and not feeding, on closer inspection the wire was rusty on the spool at the bottom. OK new wire (although i have unwound it to clean wire now)
I took the wire out completely power back on and pulled trigger "click" breaker flipped again. So started reading about circuit boards, battery check etc.
Time to check motor with a 12v battery, it spins on problem. Cleaned all contacts, cover back on pulled trigger and...works no problem, although still need to try welding with it! (when I get some gas)
I am looking forward to learn new skills and this forum with all the knowledge will make the learning curve easier. Many thanks to all (in advance!)
