Newbie hello

Thought I would introduce myself, after you may have seen my nasty first attempts at welding.

My name is Luke, and I am motorbike nuts and starting out on my first "bobber". I bought an old beat up Honda Rebel 450cmx (see pic 1) and so far I am at a rolling chasis (pic 2). A lot of the parts are coming from the states or the Netherlands so progress is slow, and the cylinder head is at the local engineers to get some EZ-outs ...out as someone has snapped them in the exhaust studs and that is just the tip of the iceberg

I am a keen MC mechanic, but have always avoided welding....... until now! So all and any advice is welcome. I hope, with your advice, my welds will get to be better than the first set of pictures i published

Nice project and looking forward to updates as the build progresses.

I was a keen biker when younger though I found all the fun was in working on them rather than riding them.

I used to build Tritons, Norton frames with Triumph motors and restore 2 strokes.

Nice! I worked on a Triumph recently, a trophy 600. Getting the carbs out and back on again was a right 'mare! in fairness I was doing it with the engine still mounted

I must admit I do enjoy working on them as well, to old for the fast bikes now (owned a Hayabusa at one point) enjoy the cruisers now.
