Hello Im atom and just wanted to introduce myself. Im in NY and am very interested in welding as a hobby. I have a machine from a garage sale and last year attempted to use it with less than good results for lack of education I believe but not sure if it was working proper as well. Im sure it is fairly low voltage and purchased some flux wire as to not use gas with it on my fathers suggestion. Anyhow I will be posting a photo of the machine this week because i really would like to utilize it instead of it colllecting dust in the garage. Im hoping that being a part of the forum will help in my endeavor. So Im a newbie I have a face shield and gloves so I believe Im ready to try this again. Ill post the specifics of the machine this week.

Thanks for the welcome big ted ...well as I promised heres a few pics of the machine i picked up at a garage sale. Its a CEM made in Italy i would have thought they would have painted it red . Anyway model is a MIG 1
120 volts @ 60 HZ . Can anyone kinda show me the way with this machine. Itried it once and really did not get the knack of it ..what metal should i be using what thickness and any other advise to help me out would be really appreciated. It does have a tube for gas at the back of the machine as well.
I have the helmet and the gloves. Has anyone ever heard of this machine?
Im thinking its a chicago electrial mig.
