Hey everyone, just bought my first welder. Now for the safety side of it. I have a fire extinguisher, also safety glasses for grinding etc. Need advice on a helmet, an as for gloves an overalls, i'm going to purchase gaunlet gloves, an use my work overalls for when i'm welding as they arenomex an fire proof. Is everything i'm doing sound right? If not advice an help would be helpfull thanks gaz

Hi and welcome Gazza,

I use the siflite mask which I bought from the weldequip shop at the top of the page, I also bought my gauntlets there as well, favouring the tig gauntlets as they are thinner and give a better feel than the thicker mig ones. As I only weld in short bursts at a time, things don't get too hot.

Ahh ok thanks for the advise, i didn't realise there was different thickness's for the various types.
