Newbie Need help with mig SIP welder

Hi there,

Got my self a migmate 150 recently and havent managed to get it working very well or consistantly working.
It felt like the wire feed motor was always struggling and the other day the motor gave up compleatly
Just ordered a new motor, but today I checked the voltage going to the motor terminals when I press the trigger and it read at 50V! Im sure the motor is only 24V?
Does the voltage increase the faster the wire feed setting is?

Was the motor connected and running when you measured the voltage?

It will be higher voltage with no load.

No it wasn't connected,
I dont want to fry the new motor when I get it!
Thing cost me enough!

I had wire feed problems with the same welder........I have stopped using 6mm and moved to 8mm,Turned the wire feed rollers round and it feeds the wire great now i recon the knurling on the 8mm side of the rollers do a better job.
