Newbie Stupid Question

Hi all
I have bought my first compressor and need a little advice,
In my compressor kit I got a inline Oiler (simalar to the picture) what is the best application for this.

I put quick releases on either side (1 male x 1female) so I can snap it on and off the air line hose when needed I filled it up with oil but when I attached it to a air drill I couldnt see any oil coming out of the exhaust of the tool so what do I do with it?


Do i leave the oiler connected all the time while using air drills etc or only connect it when I oil them?

I had one of those. I used it a few times and threw it out. Mine would empty in about 3 minutes of use. I had disconnects on either side.

It really was easier to just put a few drops in the inlet of tools before use. Filling that oiler was much harder.

I went with a permanent oiler on my air line( with another non-oiled port.)

Others here have said those are useless.

The bin. seriously.

I occassionally dribble oil down the air inlet, and run the tool with a rag over the exhaust for 60 seconds, far simpler and less hassle than mucking around with the oiler.

The oiler is at the very least a bulky lump that gets in the way.

Another reason to NOT use your"oiler" and prefer to oil each air tool inlet port is that your air line bore will not become contaminated with oil and make it useless for spray-gun use etc.

i got one of the regulators and oil res from aldi thry ok but have a spare hose to use when spraying so not get any oil comtamination
